Heat Press Settings:
There’s no one-size-fits-all setting for every heat press—it’s all about finding what works best with your specific machine. A good starting point is setting the temperature between 320–325°F and pressing for 9–15 seconds. Use maximum pressure for best results. After a few tests, you’ll figure out the ideal combination that gives you consistent, high-quality transfers.
Preparation & Pressing:
Place your DTF transfer design exactly where you want it on the garment. Smooth out any wrinkles beforehand to ensure an even press. Then, adjust your heat press according to the garment type and proceed with pressing the transfer.
Hot Peel Instructions:
Once the press is done, peel the film immediately while it’s still hot. Pull it gently to the side rather than straight up to make sure the design sticks smoothly. If you notice any areas lifting, reapply heat and pressure briefly to secure it.
Second Press (Finishing):
Cover the design with parchment paper, kraft paper, or a Teflon sheet, and press again for a few seconds. This second press helps lock in the design and adds durability.
Washing Guidelines:
Turn the garment inside out before washing. Use cold water and either air dry or tumble dry on low heat. Following these steps will help maintain the quality of your transfer over time.
DTF-printed shirts last much longer when washed in cold water. Cold washing helps maintain the print’s structure, keeps the colors from fading, and reduces the risk of damaging the design. Ideally, keep the water temperature below 30°C (86°F).
To properly care for your DTF shirts, follow these guidelines:
- Turn the shirt inside out before washing: This helps protect the printed surface by minimizing friction during the wash.
- Use a mild detergent and avoid harsh chemicals: Strong cleaning agents can harm both the fabric and the print, while gentle detergents preserve the shirt’s quality.
- Wash in cold water to protect the print and colors: Cold water prevents color bleeding and fading, helping maintain the vibrancy of the design.
- Select a gentle or delicate wash cycle: This reduces strain on both the fabric and the printed areas.
- Avoid bleach and fabric softeners: These can damage the print and shorten the garment’s lifespan.
- Do not tumble dry: High heat and spinning can cause the print to crack or peel. Instead, air-dry the shirt for the best results.
Following these steps will help keep your DTF-printed t-shirts looking fresh, vibrant, and long-lasting.
